Sister Abbey Hafen // Week Forty-Six // "Another Solid Week, Folks!"

Oh my goodness, I am sooo so tired so I am sorry if this email only reaches the status of a 19 yr old Elder's weekly email home- I apologize. :)

This week was awesome. To start out with awesome news, our investigator family has come to church 3 weeks in a row, and now has a baptisimal date for May 31, 2014 :) Oh my goodness, just typing that out makes me smile so big. This is the story I told a few weeks ago, about during Holy Week and how her husband was passed out drunk in the other room and because of her experiences that week, she was filled with confidence and courage to come to church for the first time with her family. We are seeing miracles and I just can't even explain it.

Today was super fun, we went to the Banaue Rice Terraces, but don't worry, we didn't go to the Batad Water Falls- HA, I am NEVER hiking that one again! I still am sensitive about that hike, hardest thing of my life! Anyway, today was so fun. I love the missionaries in our zone, and I love my companion. We are just crazy and today was something we both really needed. I honestly love my companion so much and realize I would do anything for her. Anything.

This week was full of trials, questions, let downs, empty prayers, humbling experiences, and so much more. I am so grateful to be on a mission and am grateful for this time to grow and be thrown one thing after another. One thing I am so grateful for is my companion. She is honest and bold to me, she is hardworking, & she is wired differently than any other companion I have had; she has so many strengths that are my weaknesses, and is helping me become the teacher and missionary I want to be. I am learning how other people work and how other people feel comfortable, how they trust and how they interact. She is patient with me, and I am grateful for her. I have to say, she is one of the best teachers I have ever witnessed- I am one lucky missionary to have her as my companion.

I wouldn't trade any of the things I am experiences I am having for anything. I am so happy and am grateful for Heavenly Father humbling me to help me become that one person I know He knows I can be.

Thank you my dear family and sweet friends, I am so lucky to be supported by you.

Love,
Sister Hafen
